Escape to Minesing
The Society for Creative Anachronism video shoot took place
at Snow Valley, a ski resort located near Barrie, Ontario.
2632 Vespra Valley Rd, Minesing, ON L0L 1Y3
Nigel changes into a mediaeval tunic to watch the battles at the Society for Creative Anachronism’s Fair, as armoured knights fight for supremacy in the Ontario Kingdom of Ealdormere.
Experts try in vain to show Nigel the arts of axe throwing and archery.
Having won the fair maiden’s hand in battle, Lord Conall weds his bride and feasts the night away.
DID YOU KNOW…
The Society for Creative Anachronism was founded to research and celebrate what was best about the Middle Ages, things like honour, pageantry and chivalry, without those pesky plagues and famines and focuses on recreating life from the time between the fall of the Roman Empire (600 AD) and the death of Queen Elizabeth I (1600 AD) in Europe.
The Kingdom of Ealdormere is a regional branch of the international SCA and practices all kinds of medieval activities, such as armored combat, rapier tournaments, feasts, dances, classes and more.
Ealdormere claims most of the province of Ontario, and is the only completely Canadian kingdom in the SCA, where events take place in communities across the province, all year round.
